About this Blog:

ICG Commerce named Rick Bunker CIO on January 22. Bunker, 45, had been serving as the procurement services provider’s head of technology and information management on an interim basis since September 2006. Before joining ICG Commerce, Bunker led the infrastructure, operations and architecture teams as CTO of a similarly named company, GSI Commerce.

Another IT executive has charted a new course in her career by joining a tech company in a sales role. Penny Wand left her post as vice president of information technology at CNA Insurance to join Mobility electronics as the Scottsdale, Ariz.-based developer of power adapters’ vice president of worldwide sales operations. She reports to Jonathan Downer, Mobility Electronics’ SVP of worldwide sales and distribution.

Moez Chaabouni is also pursuing a new path. The former CIO has started his own company, called My CIO, which provides CIO services (strategic planning, project management, IT budgeting, etc.) to growing companies that don’t yet require a full-time CIO. Before launching My CIO, Chaabouni held CIO positions with Hondros College and Title First Agency. He also previously worked for Rational Software as a senior consultant.

Trend Integration hired Dan Easley as its new CTO. Easley joined the job screening software provider from Commerce Bancorp, where he served as a service integration consultant. In that position, he was responsible for requirements analysis, technical design and implementation for the financial services company. Previously, Easley worked for debit cared payment solutions provider C/Base as its lead software architect and for online information services provider Dialog as a senior software engineer.
