I just completed a pilot project for a financial firm. The scope of the project is a Citrix Farm (4 servers) hosting a typical desktop (Office, Adobe, etc.) Further HP and IBM Thin client devices were deployed to test this desktop application delivery method.
Now the client is asking for a comparison of a similar setup using VMware and Thin Clients. Does anyone have any idea how these two scenarios can be compared?
Citrix Farm/Thin Client vs VMware/Thin Client
To cut thru the smoke and mirrors,
Citrix "ICA" client is faster display of the apps.
VMware/Thin Client uses "RDP" which is slower.
so this comes into play if you are using auto cad or any trading software which the screen update are needed.
