"With the right provider, a medium-sized business can enjoy the same service levels as a Fortune 500 company, without the costs of building and maintaining an in-house solution."
So writes IBM's Daniel Rabbitt over at infoBOOM!, IBM and CIO's community for CIOs at mid-sized organizations.
Sure that's always been true that outsourcing can help mid-sized businesses compete. But today's economic downturn has forced CIOs to explore or revisit every cost-saving strategy out there, leading to an uptick in MSPs. As i point out in my column at infoBOOM!, "60 percent of participants in Nemertes Research's 2009 Spring Benchmark say they're planning to increase their use of managed services in 2009 and beyond, with top drivers being falling budgets, shrinking staffs, a lack of specialized expertise and rising demand to support more complex applications."
Check it out to read what IBM expert Daniel Rabbitt has to say, ask him a question, then chime in with your experiences. infoBOOM!
