Ford Motor Co. announced today that Marv Adams is leaving his post as CIO and senior vice president of corporate strategy on April 21. Adams has accepted the CIO post at Citigroup. Adams is no stranger to the financial services industry; He worked for Bank One before Ford.
Replacing Adams in the CIO post is Nick Smither, a 26 year veteran of the auto maker. Smither, 47, most recently served as executive director of global information technology business operations. In that position, he reported to Adams. In his new position, he reports to Ford COO Jim Padilla.
No word from Ford yet on who's replacing Adams in the corporate strategy position, which Adams took on in June 2005.
Thanks to the reader who alerted me to this announcement!
Marv Adams has resigned from Citi, effective the end of December 2007.
