Marv Adams To Leave Ford in April

Blog: Moved and Shaken

Current Rating: 5 Comments: 38

Ford Motor Co. announced today that Marv Adams is leaving his post as CIO and senior vice president of corporate strategy on April 21.  Adams has accepted the CIO post at Citigroup.  Adams is no stranger to the financial services industry; He worked for Bank One before Ford.

Replacing Adams in the CIO post is Nick Smither, a 26 year veteran of the auto maker.  Smither, 47, most recently served as executive director of global information technology business operations. In that position, he reported to Adams.  In his new position, he reports to Ford COO Jim Padilla.

No word from Ford yet on who's replacing Adams in the corporate strategy position, which Adams took on in June 2005.

I'm afraid. I work for Citigroup technology and they are planning for massive data center closures and layoffs.

They probably hired this guy to do the dirty work as he did with Ford
