CIO Promotions at Guardian and Worksoft
Guardian Life Insurance Company promoted Frank Wander to SVP and CIO. He most recently served as CIO of Guardian's Group Insurance division. Before joining Guardian he was CIO of Prudential Institutional, COO of an Internet startup, and held leadership roles at Merrill Lynch. He began his career at Equitable.
Robert Mareburger starts on new job with energy company ONEOK on July 2 as its CIO. Mareburger, 45, reports to SVP of Administrative Services David Roth, who most recently managed the IT function. Mareburger joins the Tulsa, Okla.-based company from Citgo Petroleum. From 1996 to 2006, he served as the oil company's general manager in charge of IT and CIO. Prior to Citgo, he worked for Accenture for several years, designing and developing software for upstream oil and gas operations.
An active member of the Tulsa community, Mareburger serves on the city's Technology Board and is a second-term member of the University of Tulsa's College of Business Executive Advisory Board. He has also held leadership roles in United Way and Muscular Dystrophy Association corporate campaigns. Mareburger received a Bachelor of Science degree in petroleum engineering and a master's degree in business administration from the University of Oklahoma.
Bill Bergen was promoted to SVP and CIO at Workscape, a company that provides outsourced benefits, compensation and performance management software and services. Bergen joined
the Marlborough, Mass.-based company in 2000 as its director of IT and customer support. His promotion recognizes--get ready, this is a mouthful--the "development of new corporate standard multi-tenant product architecture that provides the platform for highly configurable applications utilizing commercially supported open source technologies" that he led.
