Pacific Gas and Electric Promotes CIO Patricia Lawicki

Pacific Gas and Electric (PG&E) promoted Patricia Lawicki to senior vice president and chief information officer on November 1. She reports to Pacific Gas and Electric President and CEO Bill Morrow. Lawicki was one of a number of PG&E executives whose promotions were announced last Thursday. She most recently served as vice president and chief information officer, the position she's held since she joined the company in January 2005. Before PG&E, she worked for NiSource, an electric and gas utility holding company based in Indiana. Lawicki holds a bachelor's degree in technology management from Purdue University and a master's degree and MBA from Indiana University.

Mercedes De Luca left her post as Yahoo's vice president of global information technology to join online women's clothing retailer myShape on Monday as its global customer experience officer and CIO. myShape hired De Luca for her technical expertise and experience with Web 2.0 and social networking technologies, which the online retailer is using to make the shopping experience for women on its site more personal and interactive (the site finds clothes that are best suited to each woman's body type.) De Luca is teaching a course on social networking at Santa Clara University. At Yahoo, she is credited with building the company's global IT organization and leading a team of more than 400 IT professionals. Prior to Yahoo, she was Interwoven's vice president of IT. She also previously worked for MarketFirst Software, West Valley College, Taos Mountain Software and Digital Equipment Corp.

Dot VN, Vietnam's official global domain name registrar, hired Mike Weller as its EVP and CIO. Weller, who is also president and co-owner of one of Dot VN's strategic partners, Global Infrastructure LLC, is responsible for overseeing the design, construction and operation of Vietnam's internet data centers. He most recently worked for Citigroup as a senior vice president of technology for five years. Prior to Citigroup, Weller worked for Edward Jones Investments, Bunzl USA and IBM Global Services. He serves on the city of St. Charles, Missouri's city council.

BPO Management Services hired a former CIO of CBS. John Lalli joined the company yesterday as managing director of its IT outsourcing services division. Lalli most recently worked for Infocrossing doing business development deals as an EVP. He came
to Infocrossing in 2002 with its acquisition of his previous employer, Systems Management Specialists. Prior to Systems Management Specialists, the decorated Vietnam war veteran worked for CBS for 26 years. His last position with the broadcaster was as its CIO. Lalli graduated from Notre Dame with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics.
