Government Health IT reports [1] that Theresa Cullen began her new job with the Indian Health Service [2] as its CIO today. Cullen most recently served as a medical informatics consultant with the Indian Health Service’s Office of Information Technology.
Drug Industry Daily reports today that Fred Farmer, acting CIO of the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA [3]), is leaving his post on July 22. The daily notes that Farmer’s resignation comes at a time of big challenges for the agency, including new regulations and a changing mission. When Farmer leaves, Kathleen Heuer, the FDA’s CFO and associate commissioner for management, will serve as acting CIO until a replacement is found.
Rodney Overby was promoted to EVP and CIO at South Carolina Bank and Trust [4] [5] on July 1. He most recently served as vice president and director of data processing, a position he’s held since he joined the bank in 2001.
