System Introduction
Air compressor group is essential equipment required by many enterprises. Control the on-off action of air compressor (such as regular maintenance, emergency stop) according to the air conditions of working field. Control compressing speed through transducer to suit variable air conditions and save electricity. All of these request sequential operation of corresponding switches, valves and control transducers. When operating, check air compressor conditions frequently. In case of temperature, pressure or motor rated current exceeding limits, stop running immediately. If pressure is high, transducer lowers motor speed; stop running part of air compressor if necessary. The disadvantages of human monitoring: 24-hour monitoring makes staff exhausted and tired. It is unsafe and a waste of human resources. Therefore, IPC automatic intelligent monitoring solutions are widely applied.
A mine has a group of three V-6/7 electric fixed water-cooled air-compressors, requesting remote operation and automatic start-up and shut-down, automatic shut-down when parameters abnormal, frequency conversion power saving running. The voltage in the mine is unstable, and the start-up and shut-down of air compressor cause great interference to electric network, plus strong vibration, dusty, harsh environment and the requirements of 24-hour uninterrupted operating, the system demands exceptional safety and stability. Therefore, EVOC Industrial PC is introduced.
System Structure
Check Points:
1) Electric Signal Check Unit: Check main motor current 1 point, as well as main power supply three-phase voltage, 3 points in total.
2) Pressure Signal Check Unit: Check the pressure of 1-cylinder, 2-cylinder and air reservoir, 3 points in total.
3) Temperature Signal Check Unit: Check 1-cylinder exhaust temperature, 2-cylinder intake & exhaust temperature, oil temperature, crank bearing temperature of 2 points, motor bearing temperature of 2 points and cooling water outlet temperature, 9 points in total.
Total: (1 + 3 + 9) x 3 + 3 = 42 points
System Configuration
1) Industrial PC: Includes IPC-810A chassis, IPC-6113LP4 backplane, FSC-1713VNA Industrial full-size CPU card, industrial power PS-270A, etc., assuring good quality and highly security.
2) PCI-64AD Data Acquisition Card: 64-Channel high gain multi-function DAS card (PCI bus interface), conduct A/D conversion as 32-channel differential analog signal, collect the data of the analog input signal of check point.
3) PCI-16P16R Control Card: It is a 16-channel relay output and isolated compact PCI bus digital D/I card, providing 16-channel relay output and 16-channel optical-isolated digital input. Onboard 16 relay output is used for controlling power switch or switch control device (like cooling water pump switch, intake valve switch, outlet valve switch, main motor on-off switch, etc); 16-channel optical isolated input is used for the “On-off signal” input of check point (like high temperature alarm point, pressure threshold, etc. )
4) Frequency Conversion Controller: controlled by Industrial PC, change motor speed by changing output voltage frequency, accordingly change air compressor speed.
System Evaluation
The automatic monitoring function of Industrial PC remarkably reduces labor force and speeds automation level. By far, it has no fault record and enjoys good reputation, efficiently realizing the remote monitoring of air compressor plant without human direction.
