Couldn’t sleep last night. Flipped on the TV. Watched “Apollo 13.” Great flick. But it made me sad for my kid because his dreams don't include space travel.

I read a lot of history. I especially like to read about our Founding Fathers— Franklin, Washington, Adams, Hamilton, Jefferson, Monroe, Madison—because those guys were brilliant, passionate, courageous and flat-out nuts.
If they weren’t nuts, they wouldn’t have put their necks at risk challenging the earth’s most powerful nation with nothing but a bunch of poorly equipped, utterly untrained and questionably loyal farmers and tradesmen to back them up.

I've been reading TJX Chairman Ben Cammarata’s Jan. 29 letter to his 'valued customers" on the TJX web site wherein the aforementioned valued customers learn that Chairmen Ben "deeply" regrets "any difficulties" his customers "may experience" due to "this incident."

I recently asked my estimable colleague, CXO Online Editorial Director Chris Lindquist, when innovation got to be such a hot topic.
And Lindquist, who’s not even a cranky old guy yet (but, I’m proud to say, seems to be well on his way) answered: “When it became something people could make a buck off.”
Well, the innovation business is booming.

Many of the responses to my November 30 blog (“Please Stop Playing With Yourself”) about the rudeness of people checking their BlackBerries and such during meetings, presentations and even lunches and dinners, defended the practice by alluding to the expectation that people have to (they just have to!) multi-task and that, as Larry wrote, “Whoever said IT is less than a 24/7 job is probably not doing a good job.”
